Camps provide fun and knowledge of the performing arts skills necessary to be in a professional production.

Camp Tuition is $280.00 BYO Lunch | $330.00 if lunch is provided each day.

Camp clinicians are degreed and or have professional stage knowledge and experience.

Students gain experience through trust exercises, scene study, and practicing cold readings. Students will also have actual screen experience by being filmed and then receiving an evaluation on overall technique from the viewing.

An hour of dance, an hour of singing, an hour of America sign rehearsal, acting rehearsal, show review rehearsal, voice rehearsal, musical theatre dance rehearsal, breaks, and lunch. Students will also learn stage terminology, reading and music theory, stage direction, choreography, and how to write a biography. Lunch can be provided for a cost of $50.00 for the week in addition to camp tuition OR campers may bring lunch. Campers will learn skills required to complete shows (listed below). No previous experience is required and auditions for vocal and dance solos are voluntary.


A Camp T-shirt with each students name. A performance program including each campers written biography. New friends. Finally, camps culminate into one final performance Friday at 5:00 pm. The performance is approximately 1 hour in length in the school’s 250 seat theater. Seating is first come first served and free. See more information below.


CAMP 1:     JUNE 24-28, 2019

SCOTT CONWAY – SHOW DIRECTOR, CAMP DIRECTOR  BFA, AEA, AGVA (Director, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Highland) received most of his training at the California Ballet School, later becoming a member of the California Ballet Company dancing in many classics.  Mr. Conway guest solo performed with many regional ballet companies and he has choreographed for many different types of companies including ballet, industrials and musical theatre stock companies. He received a BFA in musical theatre and directing from United States International University.  As a member of American Guild of Variety Artists and Actor’s Equity Association Mr. Conway has performed in world tours, theme parks, regional theaters, and dinner theaters.  Some of the shows he has performed include Pippin, Chicago, A Chorus Line, Kiss Me Kate, Pirates of Penzance and The Music Man and many others.  In his career he has performed with Edward Villella, Patricia McBride, Kay Ballard, Marlene Jones, Douglas Hevenor, Carol Lawrence, Dawn Wells, The New York City Rockettes, Chaka Kahn and Kool and the Gang to name a few.  After working for Walt Disney World, he moved to San Antonio to open Sea World of Texas and Fiesta Texas where he was part of the original creative staffs.  In 1992, Mr. Conway and Nancy Grossenbacher co-founded the Alamo City Dance Company which will be celebrating its 27th Annual Season including The Nutcracker wit Symphony Viva.  He was also the original choreographer of the award-winning Rockin’ At Rockville High at Fiesta Texas.  Mr. Conway guest teaches master classes in ballet, jazz and tap across the United States and has been school director for the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts for thirty years.

KATIE HALL – SHOW DIRECTOR  trained by the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts has returned to become a teacher.  She has performed as part of Fiesta Noche Del Rio, of which is now the director,  Ballet Folklorico de Selesteial at Texas A&M 1999-2001 and she was Ms. Fiesta San Antonio, 2001.  As a previous member of the Alamo City Dance Company she performed in many productions including The Nutcracker and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to name a few.  Katie is a fantastic director to our SASPA DANCE CO..  and is a teacher at the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts.  She has a kind respectful manner in her teaching.

RONNIE BAYLES – ACTING CLINICIAN  originally from San Antonio has recently returned from Los Angeles and Chicago where she earned her BFA in Drama from the Theatre School at DePaul University, formerly the Goodman School of Drama.  She has performed in Buried Child, Vinegar Tom, The Crucible and Noises Off to name a few.  In addition,  Ms. Bayles is a makeup artist.  Ms. Bayles will be working with our students on trust exercises, monologues, one act plays and improv and the acting scenes within our final performance reviews.

MADELEINE BURROUGHS – DANCE CLINICIAN  a member of the Alamo City Dance Company has trained at the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts for                 years.  She has performed in Lepidoptera,                                        and the snow queen in the Nutcracker.  A  hard working dancer with finesse and style she is easy to notice on stage with dominant presence.
